On the Olympia Peninsula across Puget Sound (47°15'33"N / 122°55'45"W ) from Tacoma, Washington, we call this property "Woodenships Landing".

We are no more than 30 minutes north of Olympia or 90 minutes from Seattle. Since Puget Sound separates us from Seattle, you might consider the Washington State Ferry from Seattle to Bremerton. The ferry ride is about 1 hour and and is scheduled at: http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/.

From Bremerton, take Highway 3 toward Belfair and Shelton. Since you are coming the opposite direction on Highway 3 from the direction below, you will turn left at step 6 - not right.

Direction Map 1. I-5 to Olympia, exit I-5 at the Highway 101 exit to Aberdeen / Port Angeles.

2. About 5 miles. exit right to Highway 101 to Shelton and go about 10 miles.

3. As you approach Shelton, stay on Highway 101 by getting into left lane as if you were going to Port Angeles. Highway 101 goes from four lanes to two lanes.

4. Exit Highway 101 at Wallace - Kneeland Road. This road later turns into John's Prairie Road. Stay on this road until it ends at Highway 3.

5. At Highway 3, turn left. Highway 3 follows Oakland Bay which at low tide, looks more like a mud bog. Stay on this road for about 6 miles.

6. After passing a power sub-station is Pickering Road. It is well marked with a "Park-and-Ride" and directional signs to Harstene Island and Spencer Lake Resort. Turn right. You are now about 2.5 miles away.

7. As Pickering road turns to the right, E. Community Club Road lies straight ahead. Turn to the left onto Community Club Road and then left at the first drive, subtlety marked with a yellow emergency marker with "83 E". Follow the gravel. Welcome to "Woodenships".
