the alfa is alive and well

If you knew me in Portland and/or Southern California, you probably knew my car - a 1967 Alfa Romeo Duetto. When it was sold in 1988, the Alfa had 320,000 miles and looked as good as the day I picked it up at the factory in Milan, Italy.

The new owner is an enthusiast. He lives in Bellevue, WA. and is currently the president of the local Alfa Romeo Club. Over these last 22 years, I thought I had lost track of him and the Alfa but recently he wrote - and he attached some pictures.

Apparantly, he still owns the Alfa and by all appearances, it still looks pretty good. It's been completely restores (again) with a great paint job. The interior has been upholstered in the Italian style with contrasting piping and a wooden steering wheel. It's a look more original to Ferrari than to Alfa Romeo but looks somehow appropriate.

The engine is still the 2.0 liter I installed in 1983 but has been rebuilt - again. He has removed the custom Ward and Dean spring set in favor of the original but hasn't taken out the gas pump I put in that Alfa Romao should have put in instead of the original gravity system

The headlight covers are still in tact and the wheels now are hard-to-find GTA wheels. Funny but even the new owner can't find the original rear bumper reflectors.

I asked if I might have first right of refusal - please.
